Sticker Fun Scrapbook Pages 3 and 4

A couple more pages created from an old kit by
Creating Keepsakes, using stickers.

I did add a few of my own embellishments
(rhinestone, glittery flower, organdy ribbon).

I've no idea what photos I'll put on these pages....
Maybe I ought to go out and take some photos?

Thanks for looking =)

Sticker Fun Scrapbook Page 2

Oops, I meant to share this a few weeks ago

It's made with items from an old kit by Creating Keepsakes.

This time I layered numerous clear backed stickers onto a tag
to create a collage, trimmed, added ribbon and attached to the page.

I also made a simpler sticker collage tag to use on a card.

Babies Are Stardust Card

A second card I made to welcome the newest member of our large extended family.
This one goes to the grandparents.

The image is an oldie that I totally forgot about, already prestamped in the stamp box.

I stamped it again on pink card stock then trimmed out the bib and glued it on top.

I added a teeny bit of purple stickles diamonds glitter glue to the heart.

The image is backed with a piece of shimmery paper then mounted with dimensionals.

It is mounted on top of pink card stock that was run through a letterpress plate.

I wrapped shimmery edged organdy ribbon around the debossed pink piece, hot glued on a bow.

This is all attached to the front of a white card base.

Pretty, simple.

Welcome, Baby Banner Card

A sweet, easy to mail card I made for the baby of my cousins' daughter
(would that make the baby my 3rd cousin?).

I had two of these oval die cut opening cards leftover from
my Operation Write Home card making days and came across
them recently. I decided to put one to use for the new baby.

I had a few different ideas in my head and even as I was making one of them,
I changed my mind again and came up with the banners idea.

The "Welcome, sweet little" was created on my computer
then printed out (gray), trimmed and glued to the back of the oval opening.

The swirly is a stamp from the old Noteworthy stamp set by Stampin' Up!,
stamped in Basic Gray ink.

The paper punch heart shape and letterpress plate I pushed into that shape
were also from Stampin' Up! as is the banner die and linen thread.

The word baby was die cut with an alphabet die set by Little B
that I ordered from Joann.com several years back.

The decorative papers are from an old Die Cuts With A View stack,
also ordered from Joann.com.

The pink paper is a note card I cut apart from an old
set of blanks with matching envelopes I bought from Target.

I'm happy with the way the simplified version of what I started to make
turned out. Plus, it doesn't require extra postage as my original would have!

50th Anniversary Card

I LOVE this new embossing folder I bought myself last May ! We R Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folder, Bouquet. I haven't bought myself new craft supplies or even looked at what is new in the crafting world for some time. Having been given a gift card to Amazon for Christmas, I decided to start making a wish list. This popped up when I was searching for something else. I clicked the link and was sold ! I really like the various levels of dimension.

All supplies used to make this Golden Anniversary card for relatives of mine,
other than the embossing folder and craft paints, were from Stampin'  Up!
Very Vanilla and gold metallic card stocks
  Love letterpress plate
  assorted dies
  Simply Pressed clay and mold
  gold 5/8"organdy ribbon
  Encore gold metallic paint
cream and gold acrylic craft paints
birds and swirls embossing folder (I forgot about that one!), Cuttlebug

Paint Dots Cards

More old craft kits I've put to use over the past few days :)
We've had record setting heat in our part of the world
and with no power for two days due to storm damage,
it was a good time to get crafty.

I bought these "paint dot by symbol" cards and
dimensional paper paints at Big Lots long ago.
They are printed with dots and dashes with different
patterns in them to signify what colors to use.
The paints are in squeeze tubes with fine tips.
They are thick, dimensional paints.

I made several of these cards back when I bought them.
They've since sat neglected as I got busier with the kids, etc
then when I started making crafty things again,
I was doing different types of crafty things.
Surprisingly, the new in package paints were still good,
flowing easily to create the dots and dashes !
Because there is so much good paint leftover,
I will need to think of something else to make with it.....

This card features a rainbow,
so I am entering into the Retro Rubber challenge,
I added the stamped sentiment by
Stampin' Up! from 1997, making it 20 years old.
The set name is Everyday Expressions.

Beautifully Simple 25th Anniversary Card

Today I'm sharing a
special card I made for a long time email pen pal.

This is a large card and required extra postage.
I mailed it an a bubble wrap envelope.

I used a new to me 6" square embossing folder for the front.
We R Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folder, Bouquet
It has so much dimension !

The elements on the front are various supplies from my stash:
- the "2 5" was die cut from a piece of card stock that I had a misprint
on from a previous project, so I flipped it over and cut from the clean side.
- the white lace border with touches of shimmer has been in my
sewing stash for years. It's fun to use neglected sewing supplies
on craft projects. I used low temp hot glue to adhere it to the card front.
- the 5/8" wide organdy ribbon was bought way back when
Stampin' Up! used to sell such ribbon.
- the flower with rhinestone center was part of a layering kit of
floral pieces that I bought years ago at a yard sale.

The inside:
I had printed the sentiment I created on my computer
for a previous project, but it was the wrong size so I never used it.
I finally had the perfect project to put that misprint to use.
I embossed along the top and bottom edges
(don't look too closely, I ran it through the wrong way
so it is actually debossed!).

Because the card front is so large, I had to piece together
two pieces of silver metallic card stock to create the base.

I think this card would be neat as the center of a 12"x 12"
scrapbook page surrounded by small photos of the couple
over the years. Even placed off center with a couple larger photos
from the anniversary celebration. It could be framed and hung on the wall !

Simple Scherenschnitte Unicorn Card

As I was cleaning and packing things to take up to my new craft room,

I came across a simple Scherenschnitte kit I bought years and years ago.

When I was first married and started to get interested in crafting techniques,

I came across a small crafting magazine and subscribed to it. I don't recall the name,
but it was small in dimension, featuring traditional type crafts such as  paper quilling,
tatting, knitting and the like.

This magazine also had lots and lots of ads to buy things (probably more

advertisements than projects actually!). I fell for a few of them.
One of which was this very simple paper cutting, or Scherenschnitte, kit.
It sat in a box all of this time because I really didn't know what to do
with the paper cut silhouette images way back when and had since
forgotten about having the kit until packing up stuff.

After getting everything set up in the new craft room, the first crafty thing

I did was cut out those silhouettes. Seriously. Just because.

Fast forward a couple of weeks to my seeing the newest challenge at

Retro Rubber, somewhere over the rainbow, and I knew what I wanted to make with the unicorn image. Problem was, there wasn't going to be any stamping on my card because I have no rainbow images. I originally thought about cutting paper strips to make a rainbow or even a starburst design. (which would have been a neat look I think, but I've not made one of those yet and wasn't feeling up to the challenge/time commitment today). In the end decided to keep it simple. I used this watercolor-y rainbow looking paper from DCWV and added a rubber stamped greeting from Itty Bitty Banners, Stampin' Up! (approximately 5 years old).

The unicorn was run through a Xyron sticker maker. Remember those ?
Yes, I had to have one and I barely use it ;) It was still sticky !

It is attached to a tag that I hand cut with a paper trimmer.

A piece of rainbow colored organdy ribbon is hot glued to the top of the tag.

I hand colored portions of the rubber stamp with water based markers,
stamped it, cut it out then added additional colors with pencils. Teeny paper
punch circles of orange card stock are glued to the ends, brad like.

and applying the Xyron sticker glue

Lastly, I decided to put a new nail hole in my recently
refinished/repainted walls of the new craft room. Eek !
My daughter bought this poster for me quite
some time ago. Now that I had a wall large enough
to hang it, I did . It is a 24"x 36"poster !
It filled in that corner of the room nicely.

Rainbow Colored Christmas Card

I wouldn't normally think to make such a card for Christmas, but I was inspired by two current challenges I follow to use rainbow colors. I like it, all bright and sparkly, reminiscent of Christmas lights !

Part of the Retro Rubber Challenge is to tell how old our stamps are (they must be over a year old).
I had to do some sleuthing for the "celebrate" stamp because there was no year on it. I do know I've had it well over a year (okay, I must fess up, more like a decade!) in my collection.

It says "D.O.T.S." on the side of it. I googled that and from what I could find, it was a rubber stamp company that became Close To My Heart in the year 2000. So I'd venture to say that stamp is at least 17 years old.  It was heat embossed in black on water color paper then I colored each letter in with markers and a bit of water. There were little dots around the word, so I added rhinestones to them.

"the season" was created with Snap Stamps (Small Casual), individual letters that you snap into place to create your own words.  I really like those stamps and wish I had bought more styles of them than the two I have. There is a copyright on the package from 2005, so they are about 12 years old. Wow, doesn't seem like it was that long ago I bought them. Time flies.

The banner was hand cut then attached with a red eyelet. I should have used a rhinestone brad!

I ran Stickles Diamond glitter glue around the edge of the top panel.

Rolodex Special Days Reminder

The July Anything Crafty Goes challenge at
Love To Craft is now live !

This month I'm sharing an altered off brand "rolodex".

For some of you this is probably an old project idea,
but for myself and perhaps many others,
it is a new idea to us project !
Something I've not seen before.

I happened across this kit at a church yard sale earlier
this year. I had no idea what it was, but noticed all of
the pieces of ribbon, paper and embellishments in it.
I decided to buy it to see what it was.
When I got it home and opened the package,
I discovered that it was an entire kit with basic
instructions to alter a "rolodex" file.

What fun it was to put together,
deciding which bits and pieces to
use with which papers!
I did add a few of my own do-dads.

Yes, this was a time consuming project,
but I made it more so than it had to be.

This was the kit.

I made larger divider pages because I didn't like
the look of the month titles on the small dividers.
Plus, I thought they were too flimsy.
I made my own pattern then cut them out of
card stock I had in my stash.
I covered them with the decorative papers
that were in the kit.

Below are images of each of the dividers.

Another view of the finished project !
