Baskets Of Happiness Fall Card

Another old , detailed stamp set from Stampin' Up! that I put ink to. This is another one of those seasonal sets with interchangeable parts.

I stamped this one with Basic Brown ink on naturals card stock before water coloring since it was a basket. Not too happy with that, it looks too muted.

Water colored with various classic inks and an aquapainter.

Green mulberry paper.

Square Lattice embossing folder used on the bottom half of the yellow card stock base.

Thanks for looking =)

Gifted Glove Fall Card

Putting ink to another of my old seasonal, detailed image stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

Gifted Glove with the scarecrow insert was stamped with Basic Black ink on Naturals card stock.

Colored with various classic ink pads and an aquapainter.

Kraft card stock was dry embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder.

Antique Gold brads on Riding Hood Red card stock strip that has the bottom edge torn.

Buckaroo Blue card stock with distressed edges under the main stamped image panel.

I used the journaling end of a dual tip marker to free hand doodles along the edges of the stamped panel.

Four Seasons Borders Fall Card

I had fun digging out some of my old "seasonal"stamp sets and coloring them to make Thanksgiving cards this year. This one is a set of four borders; I think the name of the set is Four Season Borders (retired from Stampin' Up!).

Image was stamped with Basic Black ink then water colored with ink pads and an aquapainter.

I tore the top and bottom off of the stamped natural card stock panel then folded it over.

I used my sewing machine to add real stitching along the top edge.

Crumb Cake ribbon and card stock.

Give Thanks Centerpiece

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !

Centerpiece I put together with various
craft supplies and scraps,
rubber stamps, inks, paper punches.

The real mini pumpkins were leftover from Halloween.

I made the burlap rose.

Lovely Leaves stamp set colored with various colors of ink
then hand cut and lightly curled in portions.

Easy, quick way to make flags/banners.
I used a 1" strip of paper and
a 1" square punch.

So many wonderful quotes about Gratitude and Thankfulness on this website. Print some out to make place markers, napkin rings, a frameable piece , use them on scrapbook pages, etc.

http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/topics/topic_thankful.html

When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Here are two slightly different cards I made with an image from the old stamp set from Stampin' Up!,

The top card also uses an image from Frames With A Flourish, stamped with Versamark ink.

The bottom card uses an image from True Friend, stamped with Versamark ink.

Give Thanks was colored with markers.

Various punches and dies.

Chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

Dimensionals (pop dots).

Gold mini brads.

Vase of Wildflowers Fall Card

Autumn stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I inked each of the florals with a marker and stamped it on a
Naturals card stock.

The vase was made by stamping a vase image onto silver paper
then cutting it out and flipping it over.
I went around the edge with a marker.

Various colors of card stock from Stampin' Up!

Scallop border punch was paper pierced in each scallop.

The yellow strip was run through the Square Lattice

Money Medallion Flower Tutorial - 5's Challenge at Anything But A Card

I like to make giving money as gifts fun when possible. See some of the other fun ways I've presented cash here.

I came up with the lolly flower money idea last month and since I used $5 bills, I decided to save this project and share it for the 5s Challenge at Anything But A Card this month :)

Below are numerous photos that show how I made this flower so it will take a while to load.

Don't use too heavy duty/permanent tape,
you don't want to ruin the money !
I use just sticky enough tape so that it held together
for a couple of hours until I could give it to the recipient.

Leaves

Scrap paper to safely adhere the leaves to the bottom of
the flower and top of the package without ruining the money.
I glued the scrap paper to the bottom of the flower
(a punched circle of lightweight chipboard).

Record Snow, Record Cold

Couldn't resist bring Frosty out for a photo op
with the snow falling on the fall pumpkin decorations

These photos were taken during the "snowstorm" we had
here a couple of days ago. Unusual , especially to end up with
2" of the white stuff in the fall. In fact, it set a new
record for this date. It was followed by a record tying
low for this time of year: 13 degrees this morning
with wind chills far below that !
The entire US is seeing winter arrive early,
some places will likely be buried under feet of lake effect snow.
Wow.

Pirate Ship Digital Scrapbook Page

This is a quick digital scrapbook page I put together to share with family members that were a part of the cruise we took a few years ago. I have been going through old photos to see if I had any of my extended family members that would be worth sharing with them and possibly make some digital scrapbook pages for. This is one of them.

I did a search for a "free pirate digital scrapbook kit" and this is one that came up in my search.
This cute mini kit can be found here http://eyeinspire.com/blog/2011/04/lots-of-goodies-april-blog-train-freebie/ as a direct download at the end of the post. It's free ! If you use it, be sure to thank the designer. I am going to go leave my thanks along with a link to my layout. I imagine she'd like to see what I made with it.

I used the My Memories Suite 5 software to create the page. It is pretty easy to use outside content in the program (the program includes lots of great kits and items). I make folders on my desktop to the items I want to use on the layout, then do a Browse through the program each time I want to add outside content in. It is just a couple more steps, but works well. The biggest quirk I've found so far in doing it this way, when adding a shape (such as my two paper layers which are square Shapes and the custom made banner), the paper must be filled into the Shape as a Photo. For some reason the program will not allow papers to be found as an outside item, they must be installed into the software. That is easy enough to do, too, but I don't want  a gazillion extra papers and embellishments installed into the program, possibly slowing it down not to mention taking much longer to scroll through the lists to find what I want.

If you don't already own My Memories Suite 5 software, you can buy it at mymemories.com. Use my affiliate code STMMMS23251 to get $10 off of your purchase, a 6x6 photobook (for a small shipping fee) plus a coupon code for $10 worth of digital content from the store ! The store has thousands and thousands of different styles and types of digital download content plus there are always sales and freebies. Soooooooo many awesome digital goodies to choose from it is honestly a bit overwhelming !

Lastly, a quick reminder that you have until November 22nd to share Anything But A Card creations this month at Anything But A Card ! Take a moment to see the variety of creations the designers have shared this month and if you have the time, make something crafty to share. There are nearly 90 entries so far. Wow, what a great variety of inspiring projects !!!

Fall Snowfall

Doesn't look like much more than a really heavy frost, does it ?
This is the total accumulation from the snow late yesterday afternoon
and overnight.
Earliest snow I can remember in a long while.
Hopefully not a sign of things to come the rest of the winter.
Last winter was brutal and we are all hoping for a milder one this year !

This was a local weather forecast from Monday:
I don't see any snowflakes on Thursdays forecast !

After taking a quick walk to take photos,
Ohmygosh, it smelled so good all day !

Here is a photo of my first attempt at them:

They were fairly easy to make, but the recipe is more expensive
than most things I make. It was sooooo good though!
This is a 6 QT crock pot nearly full,
more than enough to share with my parents on this winter like day.
The recipe was found at BHG.com

Suspended Heart LOVE Card - OWH ODBD November Challenge

The November Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge at Operation Write Home:
Each month that we reach the goal of 50 entries,  Our Daily Bread Designs donates up to two boxes of free shipping for our heroes–1 for 25 cards posted and 2 for 50.
Make a card with a heart on it and share a link to it to help reach that goal !

All supplies used were available through Stampin' Up!;
most are now retired however there are many
other fabulous companies that make similar items.

Die cut the front of the card base
and the slightly smaller card front with the
Movers and Shapers Die system.

Letterpress plate (no ink)
the card front. You can also use
embossing folders, rubber stamps
or decorative papers.
I used watercolor paper to make a deeper impression.

Punch two hearts.
This punch coordinates with the
Movers and Shapers die, it is slightly smaller.

You will sandwich clear fishing line/thread
between the two heart shapes (back to back)
with a strong adhesive. I used double stick tape.

Use double stick tape to attach the
string between the front of the card base
and the back side of the decorative card front piece.

For a little fun surprise for the recipient when you make a card like this,
you can gently twist the suspended die cut a few times before inserting it
into the envelope. When the recipient opens the card,
the suspended piece will spin around a few times !

Here are some other Suspended Shape cards I have made,
several have tutorials :
